How Nationwide Mirror Delivery Works in NZ: Live Rates, Depot Collect and Showroom Pickup

Kia ora, valued customers and mirror enthusiasts!

This post has had a proper refresh. When we first wrote it, nationwide delivery was brand new for C&F Creation — flat rates, small courier partners, fingers crossed. A lot has changed since then. Here is exactly how delivery works today, what it costs, and the two ways to skip the freight bill altogether.

How Your Order Travels Now

Full Length Mirrors and Furniture: Mainfreight

Every mirror and furniture piece ships with Mainfreight, New Zealand’s largest freight network. Oversized, fragile freight is their bread and butter. Your mirror travels on a proper freight run, not through a parcel sorting machine.

  • Built for oversized freight: a two metre mirror is completely normal cargo for them.
  • Tracked door to door: you can follow your delivery the whole way.
  • Genuinely nationwide: from Kaitaia to Invercargill, city or rural.

Floor Lamps: NZ Post

Our floor lamps pack down into courier sized cartons, so they travel with NZ Post instead — quicker and cheaper for lighter boxes, with the rate worked out from the exact carton size and your address.

Live Rates at Checkout — No More Flat Rate Guesswork

The old flat rates you might remember from the first version of this post ($59.99 North Island, $69.99 South Island) are long gone. Today the checkout asks Mainfreight or NZ Post for a real quote on the spot:

  • Enter your address at checkout.
  • The exact freight cost for your order and your location appears — no averages, no padding.
  • What you see is what the freight genuinely costs to your door, with no surprises later.

Rural addresses, apartments, tricky spots — the quote already accounts for where you live.

Two Ways to Pay Less (or Nothing) for Freight

1. Collect From Your Local Mainfreight Depot

At checkout you will usually see a second Mainfreight option: collect from your nearest depot. Mainfreight has depots right across the country, and picking up from one typically costs a fair bit less than home delivery — often the cheapest way to get a big mirror into your region. Grab a mate with a van and you are sorted.

2. Same Day Pickup From Our Albany Showroom

Aucklanders can skip freight entirely. Same day pickup is available from our showroom at Unit B, 19 Arrenway Drive, Rosedale (Albany) — open seven days, Monday to Friday 9:30am to 4:30pm and weekends 10am to 4pm. Doors open Tuesday 28 July 2026, and you are welcome to browse the full range in person while you are there.

A Note From Our Founder on Shipping Costs

“I will be honest with you — freight for a two metre glass mirror is never going to cost what a small parcel does. Instead of hiding that inside the product price, we show you the real quote at checkout and give you genuine ways around it: collect from a Mainfreight depot near you, or visit us in Albany and take it home the same day. Every mirror is packed by us and handled by freight specialists who move oversized glass every single day. Safe arrival is the part I refuse to compromise on.”
